Very rich and complex- a great solution to a small classical corner library!

You wouldn’t want streets, even pedestrian streets, to be paved with grass normally, but it just goes to show how much integrating natural life into the cityscape can alter the atmosphere.

The project is a winter cabin to be built in a highly restricted area in the mountain landscape of Ål in Norway. The cabin is designed as a landscape element that leads wind and snow around and over the building. One of the client’s initial wishes was to be able to actually go skiing, sledge riding and picnicking on top of the cabin.

The cabin is to be erected during late summer 2012.

Not a big fan of everything being white… It looks as though the walls have just been sanded and the room is about to be painted, especially with the drape-ey white coverings on the seats that look like tarps. With some play with color (dark red walls?) I think this could be a great space though.
